OMKC Non-Runners Run
On October 17, 2026, Operation Military Kids Club will host the 8th annual Non-Runners Run in Surf City, North Carolina. The event starts at Faith Harbor United Methodist Church (14201 NC Hwy 50) and finishes at The Salty Turtle (103 Triton Lane).
The event offers these distances:
- 0.5 miles
- 1.5 miles
The half-mile course includes a donut and water stop at the halfway mark. Participants registered for the 1.5 mile route continue beyond the half-mile to complete the longer course. All registered participants aged 21 and over receive a ticket for a free beer at The Salty Turtle; root beer is provided for those 20 and under. T-shirts are provided to participants who register by October 1.
The event is stroller and wheelchair friendly. No dogs are allowed on the course except service dogs. Awards will be given for the most patriotic attire or costumes. Parking is available at Faith Harbor and The Salty Turtle; carpooling is recommended.
All proceeds benefit Operation Military Kids Club, a nonprofit organization that supports events connecting military children in the community. Registration fees vary by age and distance. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
