The Hitchcock Experience : G.O.A.T.z
The event is a set of endurance trail races held at Hitchcock Nature Center in Honey Creek, IA on December 5-6, 2026. Courses use long loops over hills and ridges with primarily single track, fire road-size trail, and a small amount of maintenance road. Elevation change per loop is approximately 4,928 feet.
Distances offered:
- 100 Mile (five 20-mile laps)
- 101K The Hard Way (half marathon then the 50M)
- 50 Mile (three 16.7-mile laps)
- Half Marathon (one shortened 16.7-mile lap to 13.1 miles)
Each full loop includes three staffed aid stations: the Lodge (start/finish), The Oasis at about 6 miles, and Black Diamond at about 11.5 miles. Aid stations are fully stocked but menus may vary by visit; cups are limited and all runners must carry a bottle or hydration pack. Drop bags are stored outside at the Lodge in a designated walled shelter; the Lodge is the only drop bag location and bags will not be transported to other aid stations. There is no crew access at The Oasis.
Hundred mile competitors may use a single pacer at Black Diamond during the third lap and may add pacers at the Lodge beginning on the fourth lap. Field limit is 125 runners. Registration is open and entry fees vary by distance. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
