The Old First Ward Shamrock Run is the event's 48th anniversary and takes place in Buffalo, NY (ZIP 14204) at the Old First Ward Community Center, 62 Republic St. The event offers an in-person 8 km run and a Virtual 8k Run. The certified 8 km course carries USATF certification number NY15039JJ. The in-person 8k is open to participants ages 1 through 98. Garments are guaranteed to the first 3,800 registered participants; sizes are selected at packet pickup on a first-come, first-served basis.
Registration, Packet Pickup, Awards and Policies
Event registration includes a listed entry fee for the 8k and the virtual 8k. Pricing windows are published: in-person entry pricing is lower through February 28 and increases on March 1; virtual entry pricing is set from November 28 through race day. Online registration closes on March 6. Packet pickup and in-person registration are scheduled on days before race day and on race day; virtual runners may pick up packets at those times or request domestic mailing for a $10 fee. Virtual runners are not issued bibs. Awards include overall and masters winners, police officer and First Ward resident categories, and top three finishers in male and female age groups from 14 & under through 80 & over.
