Event Information
The Old First Ward Shamrock Run is a running event on Saturday, March 7, 2026. It marks the 48th anniversary of the event.
Participants can choose from two main event types: an in-person 8 km run and a virtual 8 km run. Registration for the in-person run is open to ages 1 through 98.
The event is based at the Old First Ward Community Center, located at 62 Republic Street in Buffalo, New York.
Registration and Packet Pickup
Packet pickup and in-person registration take place at the community center on several days before the event and on race day. Online registration closes on Friday, March 6, 2026 at 5:00 PM EST.
A garment is guaranteed to the first 3800 registered participants for the in-person event. Garment sizes are selected at packet pickup on a first-come, first-served basis.
Pricing for the in-person run increases after February 28, 2026.
Awards
Awards are given in several categories. These include first-place overall male and female, first-place masters (age 40+), and top awards for police officers and residents of the First Ward in Buffalo. The event also awards the top three finishers in male and female age groups, ranging from 14 & under to 80 & over. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
