About the race
The Old College Tri & 5K takes place on August 22, 2027, at 2400 Long Rd, Denton, TX. The event combines sprint-distance triathlon races, a standalone 5K, team competition, and additional short sprints. - Sprint triathlon: swim approximately 245 to 250 yards, bike 12 miles, run 3.1 miles - 5K run: finish inside stadium, finisher medal, event shirt for participants Team competition is organized for three-person teams in Male, Female, and Coed divisions. This is not a relay; each team member completes the swim, bike, and run.
Team times are the sum of the three individual overall times, and the fastest team in each division receives a team trophy. Team members remain eligible for individual overall and age group awards. The swim takes place in a Lazy River and directs participants toward the exit. A 40 yard dash will determine a sprint champion in each age group, with first place trophies for those champions. In case of inclement weather, the start may be delayed by up to one hour.
