The Beer Run at Old 290 Brewery is a 5k fun run held in Johnson City, Texas. This event is part of the 2025-2026 Texas Brewery Running Series and takes place at the Old 290 Brewery & Restaurant. Participants follow a marked course that encompasses both road and trail sections, starting and ending at the brewery taproom.

Safety and accessibility are key components of the event. Dogs and strollers are permitted on the course, though participants are advised that the route includes city sidewalks, streets, and trails. Attendees must present a valid ID to consume alcoholic beverages, while underage participants or those choosing not to drink alcohol receive a token for a non-alcoholic beverage.
Registration includes one craft beer at the finish line, along with a choice of a collector’s pint glass or seasonal swag item. The event also features live music and games at the finish line. A portion of the proceeds from the event is donated to local organizations, such as the Central TX Food Bank. The run takes place rain or shine.
