OLA Run to Church 5K and Fun Run
The OLA Run to Church is an event at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church in Brookhaven on August 29, 2026. Proceeds support OLA’s St. Vincent de Paul Society, a church outreach ministry that provides financial assistance to neighbors in need. The event marks the church’s 75th anniversary and includes both a 5K and a shorter Fun Run.

The 5K starts and finishes in the church parking lot and follows an out-and-back layout with a turnaround and a water station at Finistere Court; mile markers will be posted. The Fun Run also starts and finishes in the church parking lot, proceeds up Hearst Drive, turns right onto Lanier Drive, then returns after a U-turn at Windsor Parkway.
The event is described as family-friendly and allows strollers; dogs are not permitted. There will be an awards ceremony after the races and post-race activities that include a kids area, refreshments, and sponsor giveaways. Awards cover overall and masters categories plus age-group placements, with age groups listed from 9 and under up through 70 and over.
Packet pick-up is available the day before at Moylan Hall at the church and on race day at the church. Participants who register by August 17 are guaranteed t-shirt sizes; shirts will be available while supplies last. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
