OLA Run to Church 5K and Fun Run
The OLA Run to Church is a community running event held at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church in Brookhaven, GA on August 29, 2026. Proceeds benefit OLA’s St. Vincent de Paul Society, a Christian outreach ministry that provides financial assistance to neighbors in need. The event also marks the 75th Anniversary of the church.
Two event options are offered:
- 5K : chip-timed, USATF-certified course
- Fun Run : short neighborhood course starting and finishing in the church parking lot
The 5K is an out-and-back course that starts and finishes in the church parking lot, with a turnaround and water station at Finistere Court and mile markers posted. The Fun Run route follows Hearst Drive and Lanier Drive with a U-turn at Windsor Parkway. Strollers are allowed; dogs are not allowed.
Awards are given after the races and include overall and masters categories, plus age-group awards for the 5K and top placements for children in the Fun Run. Race day packet pick-up is available at the church; an early packet pick-up takes place the day before at Moylan Hall. After the races there will be an awards ceremony, a kids’ area, refreshments, and sponsor giveaways. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
