OL3D - Original Lakeland Three Day
OL3D is a three day mountain adventure in the Lake District presented in a traditional, no frills Mountain Marathon style. The event runs from Saturday 28th to Monday 30th August 2027 and Year One starts from Pooley Bridge. Participants camp for two nights in different overnight locations and are asked to leave no trace.
Each day is self supported for moving on the fells. Participants carry essentials for the day while overnight kit is transported ahead to the next camp. At the end of each day participants reach a new overnight location, collect their kit, pitch a tent and stay overnight before the next stage.
Entry options allow either solo entries or pairs. There are three course choices with different navigation and terrain demands:
- Short course with the simplest navigation and route choice
- Medium course with increased ascent and navigational difficulty
- Long course with the most technical navigation
Entries are limited to 200 people. The published entry fee for the event is £195.00. Entries open on 1 November 2026 and close on 6 August 2027. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
