OktoberFest Pumpkin Run
The OktoberFest Pumpkin Run takes place in Fresno, California, at the Woodward Park Shizen Group Activity Area. This event marks the start of the autumn running season and features a course decorated with scarecrows and pumpkins. The event is part of the CLASSIC Runner of the Year Series, serving as the 14th race in the series and providing 10 points toward the ranking.
Participants can choose from the following event options:
- 5k Run Walk
- Virtual Run
All participants receive a technical event shirt and a custom finisher medallion. The event utilizes chip timing, and awards are presented based on age groups. Special recognitions such as a costume contest and a spirit award are also part of the festivities. Every finisher is entitled to a locally grown pumpkin to take home. Additionally, participants aged 21 and over are provided with a cold beer to celebrate Oktoberfest after completing the course.
The 2026 edition features a move to a larger venue within Woodward Park to accommodate the number of attendees. For those who cannot attend in person, the virtual run option allows for participation from any location. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
