Oktoberfest Half Marathon and 5K in Asheville, North Carolina

The Oktoberfest event on October 3, 2026 offers two road race distances starting and finishing at Hi-Wire Brewing’s River Arts District Beer Garden, 284 Lyman St, Asheville. The event is capped at 1,000 runners and takes place in early October in the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Both courses are USATF certified. The half marathon tours several of Asheville’s neighborhoods while the 5K routes the River Arts District. The organizer rebuilt the routes in 2025 after flood damage to the River Arts District in 2024. The half marathon is described as a flat course designed for fast times.

Included with race entry are a finisher medal for both distances, professional chip timing, a short-sleeved technical t-shirt, a collectible race bib, and one Hi-Wire beer Leisure Time Lager for runners 21 or older or a nonalcoholic option.

The 5K includes costume awards and middle-of-the-pack awards. The event notes family-friendly elements and a finish-line atmosphere that features local beer options. The setting highlights cooler October mornings and fall color on the ridgelines above town.
