Oktoberfest Half Marathon & 5k : Asheville, North Carolina
The Oktoberfest Half Marathon & 5k takes place in Asheville, North Carolina on October 3, 2026. The event lists Hi-Wire Brewing RAD Beer Garden & Distribution Center on Lyman Street as a named location. Two race distances are offered:
- Half Marathon
- 5k
Included with registration are a technical t-shirt, a custom race bib, a finisher medal, a post-race beverage, and chip timing. Both the half marathon and the 5k courses are USATF certified. The half marathon course aid has a 3 hour limit; the 5k course aid has a 1 hour limit.
Registration, packet pick-up, transfers and policies
Packet pick-up is scheduled the day before the race and on race day (times listed by the organizer). A virtual option is available for the half or 5k; virtual participants receive shirt, bib, and finisher medal by mail the week after the race, do not need to submit results, and are not eligible for awards. Group discount: 10% off when registering five or more people together in the same transaction; different distances and virtual entries may be mixed.
Transfers to a virtual entry, to another runner, or to a different distance are allowed through 9/29/2026 using the transfer function. The event has a no-refund policy and does not allow deferrals. If postponed, the planned postponement date is 10/24/2026; the organizer states there will be no refunds for postponement or cancellation. Fundraising organizations associated with the event include Mills River Partnership, Consider Haiti, Kiwanis Club of Asheville, Read to Succeed Asheville/Buncombe, and Brother Wolf Animal Rescue.
