Oktoberfest Half Marathon & 5k : Asheville, North Carolina
The Oktoberfest event on October 3, 2026 features a USATF certified Half Marathon (13.1 miles) and a 5k, with the start and finish located at the River Arts District Beer Garden in Asheville. New course routes were plotted in 2025 after flood damage to the River Arts District in 2024.
Included with race entry are a finisher medal, a short-sleeved technical shirt, a collectible race bib, professional chip timing, and a postrace Hi Wire beer option or nonalcoholic alternative (21+ for the beer option). Course support includes a three hour limit for the half marathon and a one hour limit for the 5k for on-course aid; timing will continue for participants beyond those limits.
A virtual participation option is available; virtual registrants receive race shirts, bibs and finisher medals by mail and are not eligible for age group or top awards. Group registrations of five or more in the same transaction receive a 10 percent discount and may mix distances and virtual entries.
The event maintains a no refund policy and does not allow deferrals. Transfers to a virtual entry, another runner, or a different distance are permitted through September 29, 2026.
