Oktoberfest Half Marathon & 5K

The Oktoberfest Half Marathon & 5K takes place in Asheville, North Carolina, on October 3, 2026. The event starts and finishes at Hi-Wire Brewing’s River Arts District Beer Garden at 284 Lyman St. Runners pass through the Blue Ridge Mountain area during peak leaf season and the event highlights Asheville’s local craft beer scene.

Registration is capped at 1,000 runners and registration is open with a fee increase scheduled for July 1. Both courses are USATF certified. New course routes were plotted in 2025 after damage to the River Arts District in 2024 from Hurricane Helene; the event returned in 2025 and will continue in 2026.

Race entries include a finisher medal for both distances, professional chip timing, a short sleeved technical t-shirt, a collectible race bib, and one Hi-Wire beer (Leisure Time Lager, 21+) or a nonalcoholic option. The 5K includes costume awards and middle of the pack awards to recognize a range of participants.
