Oktoberfest 5 Mile - Waltham
The event is a road race and post race festival hosted at Mighty Squirrel Brewery in Waltham, MA. It offers two race distances:
- 5K (3.1 miles)
- 5 mile
Registration is pre registration only; there is no race day registration. Entry fees vary by registration window: $44 in July, $47 in August, and $50 from September 1 to 15. Entrants under 21 pay $20 less than the listed fee. Participants aged 21 and over receive a hat, admission to the after party, and two beers. Volunteers receive swag, entry to the post race party, and two drink tickets.
The races use chip timing; the timing chip is affixed to the back of the race bib and should be worn on the chest without folding. Overall awards are determined by gun time; age group awards use chip time. Trophies are presented to the top five overall women and men in each race. Age group champions are recognized in 20 & under, 21-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60+ divisions. Team awards include a fastest coed team scored by the top three female and top three male times, and a party team award for teams of at least ten based on their top ten finishers.
There is early number and swag pickup the day before and number pickup on race day. Free parking is provided in designated yellow lots; participants are asked not to use red lots.
