The Half distance swim takes place in Lake Conroe. The Half bike route covers 56 miles through the national forest area. The Half run is two loops on the resort golf course and adjacent neighborhood. The Sprint run follows the Margaritaville neighborhoods and golf course. Aquabike competitors complete only the swim and bike portions and do not run.
Relay teams may include two or three members and are offered in male, female and coed divisions. The Clydesdale and Athena divisions are weight based: Athena for females 165 lbs and over, Clydesdale for males 220 lbs and over. Adult divisions require participants to be 18 or older; youth races specify ages per division. The 5 O'Clock Somewhere fun tri is a pool event with a finish party at Landshark Bar + Grille; resort guests or day pass holders are required to participate in that event area.
