About the race
The Ohio Swiss Festival Cheese Chase is a community running event held on October 3, 2026, in the Village of Sugarcreek, Ohio. The race starts and finishes in front of the Sugarcreek Fire Department at 154 Broadway Street and is presented as part of the Ohio Swiss Festival, which takes place the fourth weekend after Labor Day. The festival features Swiss-themed activities including cheese, alphorns, singers, and polka.
Race options include:
- 10K
- 5K
- 1 Mile fun run and health walk
Entry fees vary by event and registration date, with listed prices ranging from $15 to $50. Registrations are non-refundable and non-transferable. A pre-race packet pickup is scheduled for October 2 at the Sugarcreek Fire Department near the pavilion. Event shirts are offered in youth small to large and adult X-Small to 3X-Large; a no-shirt option reduces the fee by $5, and shirt availability is limited after August 31.
Awards for the 10K and 5K include a medallion and cheese for the top three male and female overall finishers. Additional awards go to the top three male and female finishers in age groups: 12 & under, 13-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, and 65+.
