OHEF Family Fun Run
Oak Harbor Educational Foundation hosts a family fun run at Windjammer Park along the Oak Harbor waterfront. The event includes three distances and is organized as a community fundraiser to support the foundation's work with Oak Harbor School District students and educators.
Distances offered:
- 0.5 mile student run; recommended for age 7 and under.
- 1 mile student run; recommended for age 8 and up.
- 5K fun run; not chip timed and follows the student runs.
All student participants should be accompanied by an adult. The 5K course runs from Windjammer Park along the harbor to Bayshore Drive and Pioneer Way and returns to the park for the turnaround and finish. Timing is managed with a visible race clock rather than individual chip timing; participants may use personal devices to track exact times. Registration fees are set for each distance and shirts and bibs are available for pick up before the event.
On event day, food trucks including Kona Ice, Travelin Toms Coffee, and Chilly Willy's Ice Cream will be onsite. Parking is available at Windjammer Park or near the water-treatment facility. Attendees are asked to leave pets at home and note that inflatable costumes are not allowed. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
