OHEF Family Fun Run
The OHEF Family Fun Run is a community athletic event held at Windjammer Park along the waterfront in Oak Harbor. Organized by the Oak Harbor Educational Foundation, the event serves as a fundraiser to support students and educators within the Oak Harbor School District. The course follows the scenic waterfront, providing a setting for participants of various ages.
The event features three distinct distances to accommodate different participants:
- 5K Fun Run
- 1-Mile Student Fun Run
- 1/2-Mile Student Fun Run
This is not a chip-timed competition. Instead, a race clock at the finish line displays the elapsed time from the start of each group. All student participants must be accompanied by an adult. While the student races have age recommendations, registration is open based on the child's individual ability.
Participants are encouraged to wear 80s-themed attire, though inflatable costumes are prohibited. For logisitics, parking is available at Windjammer Park or near the water-treatment facility, and carpooling is suggested. The event maintains a policy that pets should remain at home. On-site amenities include food and beverage vendors such as Kona Ice and Travelin' Toms Coffee. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
