Offa's Dyke 15
Offa's Dyke 15 is a 15 mile trail race following the Offa's Dyke footpath on the Welsh/English border between Hay-on-Wye and Kington. The course runs from the Clock Tower in Hay-on-Wye to the finish at Kington High School and includes a mix of lanes, fields and open road sections.
The route features several notable climbs and descents, including Bettws Dingle, Disgwylfa Hill and Hergest Ridge, and offers long downhill running into Kington. There are three staffed water stations at approximately 4.5 miles, 7 miles and 10 miles, with water also available at the finish. Runners are asked to dispose of litter only at or near water stations to protect the trail and farmland.
A relay option is available with handovers at the 7 mile and 10 mile stations; teams may be two or three people and each person receives a full entry and medal. Two cut off points are in place to keep the course manageable; participants failing to meet cut off times will be transported to the finish.
Practical arrangements include pay and display parking near the start, a baggage drop with limited space, and public toilets in Hay-on-Wye that charge 30p. Bone conduction headphones are the only audio devices permitted on course under the event rules. Entry fees vary by affiliation and by whether entry is online or on the day.
