Offa's Dyke 15

Offa's Dyke 15 is a point to point trail race of 15 miles along the Offa's Dyke footpath on the Welsh-English border, running between Hay-on-Wye and Kington. The course follows footpaths, fields and some open roads and finishes at Lady Hawkins School in Kington.

The route starts by the Clock Tower in Hay-on-Wye, crosses the River Wye and climbs out of the town, passing through a campsite and the village of Bronydd. Runners tackle several climbs including Bettws Dingle and Disgwylfa Hill, pass through Newchurch and Gladestry, then climb Hergest Ridge before a long descent into Kington. There are three water stations at approximately 4.5 miles, 7 miles and 10 miles; the 7 mile station can be used to top up drinking bladders.

A relay option is available with teams of two or three and official handover points at the 7 mile and 10 mile stations. The race has two cut off points on course at those stations; competitors who do not reach them in time will be transported to the finish. A baggage drop is provided at start and finish. Parking is available in pay and display car parks near Oxford Road in Hay-on-Wye; public toilets in town require coins.

Prizes include trophies, awards for the first three male and female finishers and age-group prizes from 35 in ten-year bands. Only bone conduction sports headphones are permitted. Refunds are available up to six weeks before the race less a £2 admin fee; later refunds are not offered except for marshals, but entries may be transferred before race day.
