Event Overview
The Ocean Running Club Seaside Half Marathon and 5K is an annual event held on Sunday, October 4, 2026. It is the 49th edition of this event. The race is located in Seaside Park, New Jersey, with the start and finish at the Sawmill Café at 1807 Boardwalk.
Distances
Participants can choose from three different events:
- Seaside 5K
- Seaside Half Marathon
- Seaside Challenge (completing the 5K and Half Marathon races consecutively)
Course & Location
The event offers oceanfront views along the boardwalk and surrounding areas of Seaside Heights. The course is described as flat terrain. The half marathon course weaves through the boardwalk.
Participant Information
All races begin at the Sawmill Café. Bib pickup is available on race morning starting at 6:30 AM at the same location. The events are held rain or shine. Parking meters are in effect on race day.
A long-sleeve shirt is guaranteed for participants who register by September 5, 2026. After that date, shirts are available while supplies last. A medal is given to all finishers of each individual race. For the Seaside Challenge, finishers receive three medals: one for the 5K, one for the half marathon, and a special challenge medal.
The 5K race has a time limit of 45 minutes. The half marathon has a time limit of 3 hours, with a requirement that the first loop of the course be completed within 1.5 hours. The half marathon event will have official pacers.
Registration & Awards
There is a maximum capacity for each event: 300 runners for the 5K, 600 for the half marathon, and 150 for the Seaside Challenge. Registration closes when these capacities are reached.
Awards are given for the top three overall male and female finishers in both the 5K and half marathon. Age group awards are also presented for top three male and female finishers in categories from under 14 up to 70 and over, in 10-year increments. No awards are given specifically for the Seaside Challenge, but participants are eligible for awards in the individual races.
Paid members of the Ocean Running Club receive a $5 discount on registration if they are members prior to registering. There is also a two-race bundle option with another club event that offers a 15% discount per event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
