About the race
Aravaipa and the OC Trail Runners present a free, non-competitive group run at El Moro and Laguna Coast Wilderness Park in Newport Coast, scheduled for August 8, 2026. The event is organized as a social trail run led by Aravaipa's California Race Director and the OC Trail Runner director. Routes vary each meeting.
The meeting location is in front of the restrooms at Coastal Peak Park, 20403 East Coastal Peak, Newport Coast (cross streets: East Coastal Peak and Ridge Park Road). Saturday's planned route is approximately 6 miles with roughly 1,000 feet of vertical gain. The course is hilly and includes steep, rocky sections. The route is subject to change due to occasional intermittent park closures.
Participants should have prior trail running experience and be comfortable on trails with steep uphill sections and challenging rocky downhills. Complimentary snacks and a raffle drawing are offered after the run. Participants are advised to carry hydration and fuel for the outing.
