Event Overview
The OADAY 5K / Remembrance Walk is held in Punta Gorda, Florida. It takes place at South County Regional Park. The event supports International Overdose Awareness Day.
Event Distances
The event includes three distances:
- Overdose Awareness 5K - A 5K run/walk.
- 1 Mile Remembrance Walk - A 1-mile waterfront walk.
- Virtual Remembrance Walk - A virtual option with self-timing.
Registration Details
Standard 5K registration starts at $25. Kids under 14 start at $20. Day-of registration for the 5K costs $45. Running club discounts are available at checkout. Registration is online only; cash payments are not accepted. Registration closes 15 minutes before the race begins. Race-day packet pickup starts at 6:15 AM. An optional early packet pickup is scheduled for Thursday, August 27, with details to be announced.
Awards and Extras
Awards are given for male and female overall winners, plus Masters (40+), Grandmaster (50+), Senior Grandmaster (60+), and Veterans (70+). Medals are awarded to the top three finishers in each standard age group. A Sport Tek race tee is included with registration but is not guaranteed if registering within three weeks of the event. A Sport Tek tank top is available for an additional $5. A trophy is awarded to the largest participating team.
Event Purpose
Proceeds benefit Cathy's Place of Charlotte County & Drug Free Charlotte County, which provides resources for people in recovery. The event includes informational booths on overdose prevention. A live DJ and raffles are part of the day's activities. Participants are invited to submit photos of loved ones lost to overdose for display.
