NYRR Frosty 5K
The NYRR Frosty 5K is a scored five-kilometer road race held in Prospect Park, Brooklyn, on December 12, 2026. The event is organized by New York Road Runners and is presented as a festive winter race; all participants receive a New Balance accessory.
The race is a qualifier for NYRR’s 9+1 program. Awards are presented on site to the top three finishers in the overall men, women, and nonbinary divisions. Runners who place in the top three of their age group can claim an award after the event through the race organizers' age-group awards process.
Kids ages 2 to 18 may take part in the Rising NYRR race-day program; registration for that youth program is free. The event provides runner tracking and live unofficial results through the NYRR mobile app, with official results posted after the race.
Logistics notes published for the event include race number pickup at the NYRR RUNCENTER featuring the New Balance Run Hub at 320 West 57th Street, a clear-bag policy for bag check (bags no larger than 17 inches wide by 20 inches high by 7 inches deep), and a prohibition on costumes that cover the face or on non-form-fitting outfits that extend beyond the perimeter of the body. Reasonable accessibility accommodations and guide or support runner requests can be arranged through NYRR at registration; such requests must be placed at least two weeks before the event.
