NYRR Frosty 5K
The NYRR Frosty 5K is a scored winter road race held in Prospect Park, Brooklyn on December 12, 2026. The event covers a 5K distance and is presented as a festive seasonal run with participants encouraged to wear cheerful race-day gear. All participants will receive a New Balance accessory.
Costume guidelines prohibit coverings that obscure the face and any non-form-fitting outfits that extend beyond the perimeter of the body. The race is a qualifier in the 9+1 program and offers on-site awards to the top three finishers in the overall men, women, and nonbinary divisions. Age-group award claim procedures are available after the event.
Children ages 2 to 18 may participate in the Rising NYRR race-day program; registration for that free program is required. Team for Kids provides a guaranteed entry option with coaching and a Team for Kids singlet for those who join the program.
Event services include bib pickup at the NYRR RUNCENTER prior to race day, a bag check that accepts only clear bags no larger than 17" wide x 20" high x 7" deep, and live unofficial runner tracking via the NYRR app with official results posted after the race. Organizers state that entry fees are non-refundable and that events will not be rescheduled if cancelled by local authorities.
