About the race
The NYRR Frosty 5K is a 5K race set for December 12, 2026, in Prospect Park, Brooklyn. The event is a scored race and is listed as a qualifier for NYRR’s 9+1 program. All participants receive a New Balance accessory.
The race allows costume wear with specific restrictions: costumes that cover the face or non-form fitting outfits that extend beyond the body perimeter are prohibited. Kids ages 2 to 18 may take part in Rising NYRR race-day activities; registration for those youth activities is free.
Race operations include number pickup at the NYRR RunCenter in Manhattan and a bag check that accepts only clear plastic bags no larger than 17 inches wide x 20 inches high x 7 inches deep. Live unofficial results and runner tracking will be available in the NYRR app during the event, and official results are posted after the race. Awards are presented on site to the top three overall finishers in the men, women, and nonbinary divisions; age-group placers can claim awards afterward via the organizer’s claim process.
