NYRR Frosty 5K
The NYRR Frosty 5K is a winter road race held in Prospect Park on December 12, 2026. The event covers 5K (3.1 miles) and is described as a festive run through the park. The race is open to participants ages 8 and up.
The event is scored and includes on-site awards for the top three finishers in the overall men, women, and nonbinary divisions. Age-group placings are recorded; athletes who place in the top three of their age group can claim awards after the event through the race organizer’s age-group award process. Live, unofficial results and runner tracking are available through the NYRR mobile app, and official results are posted on the NYRR results page after the race.
All participants receive a New Balance accessory. Costume rules prohibit face-covering costumes and any non-form-fitting outfits that extend beyond the perimeter of the body. A Team for Kids registration option is available for those who choose to participate with that program.
Race services include bib pickup at the NYRR RUNCenter prior to race day and a checked-bag service that accepts only clear bags no larger than 17" wide x 20" high x 7" deep. Clothing donation bins will be available in the start corrals and alongside the course after the start; extra layers will be donated.
