The NYCRUNS Frozen Pigeon 5K takes place in Prospect Park, Brooklyn on Saturday, January 17, 2026. The event offers a 5K distance and is USATF-certified. Start corrals are pace-based and assigned by letter (AA-F); the corral assignment appears on the race bib and can be updated in the NYCRUNS Dashboard.

Course and festival area

The course covers just under one full loop of Prospect Park with a final sprint up Center Drive to the finish. The Festival Area is located in the Nethermead and is accessible via Center Drive or the walking paths off Well House Drive. The race finishes on Center Drive, which leads back to the Festival Area.

Amenities and logistics

Bag check is available with a requirement to use a single clear bag; organizers may provide a clear bag 18" x 24" if needed and reserve the right to search contents. Portable bathrooms will be available. Water and electrolyte fluids are provided on course, with electrolyte fluids and cans of smartwater at the finish. Post-race food includes bagels with schmear and fresh fruit. Race swag includes a tech shirt and a finisher medal; shirt sizes are not guaranteed.

Results, awards and accessibility

Full results will be posted online and finish results emailed. Awards are given to the top three male, female, and non-binary finishers overall by gun time, and to the top three in each age group by net time (age groups from 9 and under through 70 and over). Handcycle and Wheelchair Divisions are offered and can be selected in the runner profile.

Policies and travel

The event follows a no-refunds, no-transfers policy; members have race withdrawal options for credit. Strollers and dogs are not allowed.
