NYCRUNS Frozen Pigeon 5K
The NYCRUNS Frozen Pigeon is a USATF certified 5K held on a course that covers just under one full loop of Prospect Park and finishes with a sprint up Center Drive. The event includes a Festival Area in the Nethermead where participants pick up bibs and shirts, check bags, and find race information. Start corrals are pace based and assigned by letter (AA through F); assignments come from each runner's NYCRUNS Dashboard profile and corrals are located on Well House Drive.
On-course and race-day amenities include bag check with a single clear bag provided if needed, portable bathrooms, water on the course, and post-race refreshments including water, Gatorade, an apple, and a bagel with schmear. Every participant receives a race tech shirt on race day only and a finisher medal at the finish. Race photos are produced and one image per runner is available as a free download; additional photo packages can be purchased.
NYCRUNS members receive benefits such as a 10% race discount and free bib mailing when membership is active on race day; mailed bibs require registration 20 days or more before the event and a U.S. mailing address. The event includes Handcycle and Wheelchair divisions; athletes in those divisions should follow the organizer's guidance for early bib pick-up and start-line procedures. Results and awards are posted after the race, with overall and age-group prizes for male, female, and non-binary categories.
