NYCRUNS Frozen Pigeon 5K

The NYCRUNS Frozen Pigeon 5K takes place on Saturday, January 16, 2027, in Prospect Park, Brooklyn. The event uses a single 5K course that is just under one full loop of the park and finishes with a final sprint up Center Drive. All NYCRUNS courses are USATF-certified.

The Festival Area is located in the Nethermead and is accessible via Center Drive or the walking paths off Well House Drive. Start corrals are pace based and assigned by letter (AA through F); corral locations are on Well House Drive and assignments are determined by the pace entered in the NYCRUNS dashboard.

Bibs are available for pick up in the Festival Area on race day only and require a unique QR code that will be available the week of the race via the NYCRUNS dashboard. NYCRUNS members can opt to have their bib mailed at no cost; mailed bibs require registration at least 20 days before the event and a U.S. mailing address. Participant shirts are distributed on race day only and may not be available in every size.

On-site amenities include a bag check with a single clear bag provided (18" x 24"), portable bathrooms in the Festival Area and on course, post-race bagel options and an apple, a finisher medal, and race photos delivered by email after the event. Handcycle and Wheelchair divisions are accommodated; athletes should follow the event guidance for bib pick-up and start-line positioning.

Results are emailed and posted online after the race. Awards are given to the top three overall male, female, and non-binary finishers by gun time, with age-group awards by net time across standard age ranges. Pricing varies by date and by NYCRUNS membership; members receive a 10% discount. Standard event policies apply including no refunds and no transfers, and strollers and dogs are not allowed.
