NYCRUNS Frozen Pigeon 5K
The NYCRUNS Frozen Pigeon 5K is scheduled for January 16, 2027 in Prospect Park, Brooklyn. The course covers just under one full loop of the park, finishing with a final sprint up Center Drive, and is USATF certified.
The Festival Area is located in the Nethermead and is accessible via Center Drive or the walking paths off Well House Drive. Bib pickup, gear check, participant shirt distribution, and portable bathrooms are available in the Festival Area. Start corrals are pace based and assigned by letter (AA through F); corral assignments appear on the race bib and can be updated via the NYCRUNS dashboard.
On-course and post-race amenities include a single clear bag for bag check (18 x 24), portable toilets on the course, post-race bagel options (everything, plain, cinnamon raisin) and NY State apples, a tech participant shirt available on race day only, a finisher medal, and race photos delivered by MarathonFoto after the event.
Bibs may be picked up in the Festival Area on race day with a unique QR code; NYCRUNS members may receive mailed bibs at no additional cost and non-members can request mailing for a fee if registration and address conditions are met. Handcycle and wheelchair divisions are accepted; athletes in those divisions should plan to arrive well in advance and be positioned ahead of the start corrals.
Results are emailed and posted online after the race. Awards are given to the top three overall male, female, and non-binary finishers by gun time, with age group awards by net time across specified age brackets. Standard no-refund and no-transfer policies apply; strollers and dogs are not allowed and time limit rules are enforced. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
