NYCRUNS Frozen Pigeon 5K : Prospect Park, Brooklyn : January 16, 2027
The NYCRUNS Frozen Pigeon is a 5K race held in Prospect Park, Brooklyn. The course covers just under one full loop of the park with a final sprint up Center Drive to the finish. All NYCRUNS courses are USATF certified.
A Festival Area is located in the Nethermead and is accessible via Center Drive or the walking paths off Well House Drive. The Festival Area houses bib distribution, bag check, portable bathrooms, and participant shirt pickup. Bag check requires a single clear bag provided if needed (18 x 24 inches). Participant shirts are distributed on race day only and sizes are not guaranteed. A finisher medal is awarded at the finish. Race photos are emailed after the event and one photo download is provided free.
Start corrals are pace based and assigned by letter AA through F; corrals are located on Well House Drive. Handcycle and Wheelchair Division athletes are accepted and should plan additional time for bib pickup and staging before the race.
Results will be emailed and posted online after the race. Awards are given to the top three male, female, and nonbinary runners overall by gun time, with age group awards by net time across standard youth through 70 and over categories.
Policies include no refunds and no transfers, race time limits, and rules restricting strollers, dogs, earbuds that hinder awareness, and celebratory confetti cannons. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
