About the race
The NYCRUNS Frozen Pigeon 5K is a winter 5K held in Prospect Park, Brooklyn on January 16, 2027. The course is USATF certified, runs just under one full loop of the park, and finishes with a final sprint up Center Drive back toward the Festival Area in the Nethermead. The Festival Area is accessible from Center Drive or the walking paths off Well House Drive and serves as bib pick-up, bag check, gear check, and shirt distribution. Bag check uses a single clear bag (18 x 24) provided if needed.
Portable bathrooms are available in the Festival Area and on course. Participant shirts are distributed on race day only and sizes are not guaranteed. A finisher medal is given to finishers.
Race photos include one free downloadable image per participant and optional discounted photo packages. Start corrals are pace based and labeled AA through F; corral locations are on Well House Drive and assignments appear on the race bib. Bibs are available for pick up in the Festival Area on race day; NYCRUNS members may receive mailed bibs at no additional cost if they qualify, and nonmembers may add mailed bib service for a fee subject to registration timing and U.S. mailing address rules.
