NYCRUNS Big Apple Half Marathon
The NYCRUNS Big Apple Half Marathon takes place in Central Park on December 13, 2026. The event is a 13.1 miles looped course around Central Park and is USATF certified. It is the first race in NYCRUNS' Central Park winter race series and has been held since 2017.
Start corrals are pace based and assigned by letter from AA to F. Corral assignments appear on the runner bib and are determined from the pace listed in the runner's NYCRUNS Dashboard; the pace can be updated by the runner prior to the race.
On-course and festival amenities include a bag check (single clear bag provided if needed), portable bathrooms in the Festival Area and on the course, a participant tech shirt distributed on race day only (sizes are not guaranteed), and a finisher medal presented at the finish line. Race photography includes one free eligible photo per runner and optional paid photo packages. Bib mailing is complimentary for NYCRUNS members or available for purchase for a fee for non-members; bibs can only be mailed to U.S. addresses when registration occurs 20 or more days before the event. If a bib is not mailed, bib pick up occurs on race morning in the Festival Area and requires a unique QR code.
Mass transit is recommended, and parking is limited. Because the course uses multiple loops, handcycle and wheelchair athletes are not advised to register. Registration may close the day before the event or earlier if capacity is reached.
Results are emailed and posted online. Awards are given to the top three male, female, and non-binary overall finishers by gun time, with age group awards for standard age brackets. Prize money is awarded to top finishers and has specific eligibility requirements for NYCRUNS members. Standard race policies apply, including no refunds and no transfers; strollers and dogs are not allowed, earbuds may affect eligibility, celebratory confetti cannons are prohibited, and time limits are enforced on course.
