NYCRUNS Big Apple Half Marathon
The NYCRUNS Big Apple Half Marathon takes place in Central Park on December 13, 2026. This is the tenth edition of the race and the first event in NYCRUNS' Central Park winter race series. The event awards a finisher medal and features a post-race food offering including several bagel options.
The course is a looped route around Central Park; specific course details will be published closer to race day. NYCRUNS states that all of its courses are USATF certified. Start corrals are pace based and assigned by letter (AA through F) according to the pace listed in a runner's NYCRUNS dashboard.
On race day bibs are available for pick up in the Festival Area; runners must present a unique QR code that is issued the week of the race. Members can opt to have their bib mailed at no additional cost; non-members may add bib mailing for a fee. Bibs can only be mailed if registration occurs 20 days or more before the event and only to U.S. mailing addresses.
On-course and event amenities include a single clear bag policy for bag check (provided if needed), portable bathrooms in the Festival Area and on course, a tech participant shirt distributed on race day only with sizes not guaranteed, a finisher medal, and one complimentary race photo with options to purchase additional photos. An event app provides real-time runner tracking. Mass transit is recommended and parking is limited. Due to the multi-loop course layout, handcycle and wheelchair athletes are advised not to register for this race.
Results and awards are distributed after the race. Awards are given to the top three male, female, and non-binary finishers overall by gun time, and to the top three in each age group by net chip time. Prize money is available to qualifying NYCRUNS members, with amounts allocated for first through tenth places. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
