NYCRUNS Big Apple Half Marathon, Central Park, December 13, 2026

The NYCRUNS Big Apple Half Marathon is a USATF-certified half marathon held in Central Park. It is presented as the Tenth Annual Big Apple race, serving as the final NYCRUNS event of 2026 and the opening race of the Central Park winter series.

Start corrals are pace-based and assigned by letter (AA-F) using the pace listed in each runner's NYCRUNS Dashboard. The course is a multi-loop layout; handcycle and wheelchair athletes are advised to consider alternative NYCRUNS events.

On-course and event amenities include bag check with a single clear-bag requirement (an exhibitor-provided clear bag meets the specification), portable bathrooms, water and Gatorade stations on course and at the finish, a long-sleeve race shirt (race-day pickup only; sizes not guaranteed), and a finisher medal. Post-race food includes bagel options with schmear and a Big Apple. Participants receive one complimentary photo from MarathonFoto with options to purchase or pre-purchase additional images.

Bib distribution occurs in the Festival Area on race day and requires a unique QR code; NYCRUNS members may receive mailed bibs at no cost, while non-members may add mailed bib service for a fee. Mass transit is recommended; the Festival Area is at the 102nd Street Crossing by the North Meadow ballfields next to East Drive. Start corrals are located on West Drive near 93rd Street.

Results are emailed and posted online. Awards are given to the top three overall (male, female, non-binary) by gun time and to top three in standard age groups by net/chip time. Prize money is available to eligible NYCRUNS members, with distributions from $1,000 for first place down to $100 for places six through ten. Event policies include no strollers or dogs, restrictions on earbuds that hinder awareness, prohibition of confetti cannons, and time limits for course support and official finish times.
