NYC Race of Hope in Central Park

The NYC Race of Hope is a community event held in New York City to benefit the Hope for Depression Research Foundation. The event focuses on raising awareness and gathering funds for research dedicated to finding a cure for depression. Participants gather at the Davis Center, located at 106-51 East Dr, which serves as the hub for the start and finish line celebrations.

Participants can choose to run or walk the designated distance:

  • 5K (3.1 miles)

The course takes place in the northern sections of Central Park. This route is designed to provide a quieter experience through the park's landscape. The registration options are divided between students (elementary through college, up to age 22) and adults.

Official race results and awards are determined based on the age and gender of the participants. For those who prefer to remain anonymous or opt-out of the competitive aspect, entering a specific placeholder birth date (01/01/1905) alerts the timing team to remove the individual from official award eligibility. The first 300 participants to arrive for gear pickup receive event-specific items. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
