NYC 50k - Stair Set of Doom Ultra
The NYC Stair Set of Doom Ultra is an annual event that takes participants on a course covering over 33.3 miles through the urban landscape and natural areas of New York City. The route traverses city streets, 16 different parks, and various dirt trails, offering a view of the city’s neighborhoods and landmarks.
The course is characterized by significant physical demands, including more than 3,500 feet of elevation gain. Participants must navigate 90 separate stair sets of varying sizes and cross six different bridges. The route spans across four of the city’s boroughs, providing a diverse range of terrain and environments.
This event is unsanctioned and primarily self-supported. While the organizers provide an aid station, participants are expected to manage their own water and nutrition. Public restrooms are available and marked along the route. Registered participants receive a course map and specific route instructions prior to the start.

The event concludes with a gathering at Broadstone Bar and Kitchen. Participants who complete the course receive a finisher t-shirt, and a prize is awarded for first place.
