5K Resolution Run presented by Mount Nittany Health
The Resolution Run is an annual 5K race and walk organized as part of First Night State College. The event is produced jointly with the Nittany Valley Running Club and presented by Mount Nittany Health. The course runs onto the Penn State University Park campus and follows the traditional route used in previous years.
Runners and walkers are both welcome. Walkers begin behind runners and are asked to remain on sidewalks for the duration of the 5K. Spectators may gather along the route to cheer participants. Costume wear is encouraged for runners and spectators, and past costumes have included a range of outfits from Speedos and tuxedos to bees and trees.
Chip timing is provided by Runner's High. Registration fees vary by date: $25 if postmarked on or before December 22, $30 through December 30, and $35 on the day of the race, December 31. A reduced fee schedule applies to participants ages 19 and under: $15 for pre race registration, $20 through December 30, and $25 on the day of the race. Registration may be completed online or in person at designated locations, and St. Pauls United Methodist Church basketball court will serve as baggage storage during the event.
