5K Resolution Run presented by Mount Nittany Health
The Resolution Run is a 5K road event on streets around the Penn State University Park campus. Runners and walkers are both welcome; walkers start behind runners and are asked to remain on sidewalks for the duration of the event. The course follows the same layout as the prior year and enters the University Park campus. Chip timing is provided by Runner's High.
The event is organized in partnership with the Nittany Valley Running Club and presented by Mount Nittany Health. Organizers encourage participants and spectators to wear costumes; past examples include Speedos, tuxedos, bees, and trees.
Registration fees vary by date and age: standard fees are $25 if postmarked on or before December 22, $30 until December 30, and $35 on the day of the race, December 31. For participants ages 19 and under, fees are $15 for pre-race registration, $20 until December 30, and $25 on race day; the First Night State College button is not included in the youth package.
Registration is available online, in person on December 30 at the State College Municipal Building (243 S. Allen St.) during the posted registration window, and on December 31 at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church basketball court, which also serves as baggage storage during the event. Race results are published by the Nittany Valley Running Club. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
