Nittany Valley Half-Marathon
The Nittany Valley Half-Marathon is a 13.1-mile road race held in State College, PA on December 6, 2026. The course begins and ends on the Penn State campus at the Snider Ag Arena and passes through rolling countryside, along Spring Creek, and through Houserville before a climb up Orchard Hill and the final stretch back to the arena. The course is marked and staffed by volunteers along the route. Runners have up to four hours to complete the course. A detailed course map and elevation profile are made available for participants.
Proceeds from the event benefit Centre Volunteers in Medicine (CVIM), the county’s free clinic that provides medical, dental, behavioral health, case management, and medication assistance to uninsured residents. Fundraising is optional; registrants may receive a customizable fundraising page and basic fundraising tools to collect donations. All donations directed to patient care are used to expand access to services for uninsured people in Centre County.
The event includes an optional 12-week half-marathon training program offered for a donation; the program provides an adjustable training plan, weekly coach check-ins and emails, optional weekday track workouts, and several optional group long runs on the race course. Registration for the race is non-refundable; if the event is canceled, registration fees will be treated as donations. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.
