About the race
The 42nd Nittany Valley Half Marathon takes place on December 6, 2026, in State College, Pennsylvania. The 13.1-mile course begins and ends on the Penn State campus and runs through rolling countryside, along Spring Creek, and through Houserville before the climb up Orchard Hill and the final stretch back to the Penn State Snider Ag Arena. The course is well marked and staffed with volunteers along the route. Runners have up to four hours to complete the course.
The event raises funds for Centre Volunteers in Medicine, Centre County’s only free clinic. CVIM provides medical, dental, behavioral health, case management, and medication assistance to uninsured residents of the county. Fundraising is optional; registered participants receive a customizable fundraising page and simple tools to share with others. Donations and support for runners go directly to patient care.
Event policies include a no-refund registration policy and a provision that, if the race is canceled, registration fees will be considered donations to Centre Volunteers in Medicine. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times. An optional 12-week half-marathon training program is available for a fee and includes an adjustable training plan, weekly emails and check-ins, optional track workouts, and optional group long runs on the race course.
