Nuclear Fit
Nuclear Fit is an outdoor fitness race held at Kelvedon Hatch, Brentwood, Essex. The adult format consists of six 1 km trail runs that total 6 km, with a functional fitness station after each lap. The event offers multiple formats including Individual, Doubles, Relay and Pro, and a Rookies category for children. Adult events list a minimum age of 16.
Each lap finishes at a workout station. Station examples and core tasks include tyre flips, urn and milk churn carries, plough pulls, a duck and throw sequence with weighted bags, and a high-repetition squat and lift set. Stations use specified weights and distances and are completed when both competitor and implement cross the station line or when the required reps are recorded.
Timing chips provide breakdowns for each run and each workout station, producing split times for performance analysis. Race entries receive chip timing, a finishers medal and trophies for the top three male and female finishers. Spectator access and on-site parking are free. Event weekends include a central race village with music, stalls and sports massage facilities and are scheduled in multiple months such as May, July and September.
