Brooklyn St. Patrick's 5K, 10K & Half Marathon
The Brooklyn St. Patrick's event features multiple distances along a scenic waterfront route. The race takes place at the Veterans Memorial Pier at Shore Road and Bay Ridge Avenue. The course offers views of the Verrazzano Bridge and follows an out and back format along the boardwalk.
Participants can choose from the following distances:
- 5 km
- 10 km
- Half marathon
The 5 km distance consists of a single out and back loop, while the 10 km requires two loops. The half marathon involves four loops with two specific turnaround points. Participants in the half marathon must pass through both checkpoints on every loop to ensure accurate timing. A time limit of 2 hours and 45 minutes applies to the half marathon distance.
Course amenities include a hydration station at the finish line for all runners, with additional water stations provided specifically for half marathon participants at the designated turnarounds. An informal area is available for bag storage in the staging area. Restrooms are situated within a short walking distance of the start and finish locations.
All finishers receive a themed medal and a shirt. The event uses electronic timing with live online results and finish line photographs. Participants who cannot attend in person have the option to complete their chosen distance virtually within a one-week window. A portion of the proceeds from the event supports the Never Stop Running Foundation, a non-profit organization focused on athletic and charitable community involvement.
