Northumberland Festival of Sport, Morpeth : 30 to 31 May 2026
The Northumberland Festival of Sport takes place at Druridge Bay Country Park, Morpeth, using Ladyburn Lake for the swim and park footpaths and coastal roads for bike and run courses. The venue is on the Northumberland coast and is described as suitable for family activities and outdoor recreation.
The programme includes a range of open water swim, aquathlon, aquabike and triathlon events across youth and adult categories. Swim activities take place in the warm shallow freshwater of Ladyburn Lake. The bike route leaves the Country Park toward the coast and the run follows multi lap footpaths around the lake.
Distances include:
- Junior Aquathlon - Tristar Start (age 8): Swim 100m / Run 600m
- Tristar 1 (ages 9-10): Swim 200m / Run 1100m
- Tristar 2 (ages 11-12): Swim 300m / Run 1600m
- Tristar 3 (ages 13-14): Swim 400m / Run 2100m
- Open water swim challenges: 750m, 1.5km, 3km
- Sprint Triathlon: 750m swim, 19km bike, 5.2km run
- Standard Triathlon: 1.5km swim, 38km bike, 10.4km run
- Sprint and Standard Aquabike and Aquathlon distances mirror the swim and run lengths above
Age and entry notes: minimum ages apply for each race based on 31 December 2026; some events require a British Triathlon Federation race pass for non BTF members.
