Event Overview
The SCOTT Sports Winter Cheviot Goat is a self-sufficient winter ultra-marathon located in the Cheviot Hills of Northumberland. Based at Ingram Village Hall, the event takes place in an environment where participants traverse a loop of the largest hills in the border region. The course is approximately 55 miles (90 km) long and is held under UK Athletics rules and licensed by the Trail Running Association.
Participation Requirements
Due to the nature of the terrain and the potential for winter conditions, the event requires participants to have previous ultra-running experience. Runners must be 18 years of age or older on the day of the event. Registration is open to both UKA members and non-members.
Logistics and Fees
The event includes several distances and facilities:

Participants have a 24-hour time limit to complete the course. Every runner is provided with a GPS tracker to allow the event team to monitor their progress. In the event of extreme weather making the route unsafe, the start may be delayed by up to 24 hours.
Amenities and Recognition
Event headquarters are located at Ingram Village Hall. Camping is available in the field adjacent to the headquarters for tents and vans for a fee, and on-site parking is also available for a fee. All finishers receive a t-shirt and a medal, with additional prizes awarded to top finishers. The overall winner is awarded the Edwin Nelson Cup.
