SCOTT Sports Winter Cheviot Goat : event summary

The SCOTT Sports Winter Cheviot Goat is a winter ultra-run held from Ingram Village Hall in Ingram, Northumberland, across the Cheviot hills. Organised by Cold Brew Events in partnership with SCOTT Sports, the course is a roughly 55 mile (ish) loop that traverses the largest hills in the border region.

The event is licensed by the Trail Running Association and is run under UK Athletics rules. It is intended for experienced ultra-runners familiar with winter conditions; the organiser advises that participants prepare physically and mentally for winter weather. Every runner receives a GPS tracker for monitoring, and competitors have 24 hours to reach the finish.

Route details can change close to the event because of variable conditions, and the final route may be confirmed only a few days beforehand. Prizes are awarded to top finishers, the outright winner receives the Edwin Nelson Cup, and all participants receive a t-shirt and medal. Camping is available on the field next to event headquarters for £30 per tent or van; parking costs £10 per car.

Entry is restricted to those aged 18 or older. Entry fees listed are £220 for UKA members and £222 for non-members, plus a 6% booking fee. Refunds, deferrals, or entry substitutions are not available under the event policy. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
