About the race
Alnwick Santa Fun Run is a community fundraising event organised by the DCHS Prom Committee and held at The duchess's Community High School in Alnwick. The event is intended as a platform for teams, clubs, families and friends across North Northumberland to raise funds for a club, team, trip or a charity while taking part in a festive activity. This will be the fourth running of the event and it takes place on Sunday 6 December 2026. The course is a 1 km loop around Taylor Drive and the high school.
Participants choose how many laps to run, with a maximum of ten laps, so the distance can be between one kilometre and ten kilometres. Students will play live music along the route and there will be a bake sale inside the school hall, which also offers seating, warm drinks and a small Christmas fair. Health and safety notes state that medical fitness is the participant's responsibility, and anyone with a medical condition should tell the organisers in advance. Route Marshalls in hi‑viz will be positioned around the course and should be followed where possible, but they cannot control traffic.
Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult at a minimum ratio of one adult to four children. If the event is cancelled for weather, tickets will be carried over to the next year. Refunds are available up to seven days before the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
