Northumberland Alnwick Castle Trail Half Marathon
The event is part of the Run Northumberland Castles Challenge and is hosted by the Northumberland Estate in Hulne Park near Alnwick Castle. The programme includes multiple distances held within the estate grounds and grounds are traffic free.
Distances include:
- Half Marathon - two loops around Hulne Park on paths and farm tracks
- 10k
- 5k
- Junior 2k
The Half Marathon follows multi terrain surfaces with an undulating profile. Minimum age for the event is 17. Entries are limited to 500 and close on 18th May 2026. Entry fees are listed as £30 for affiliated runners and £32 for unaffiliated runners.
Race HQ is at Hulne Park, with registration and bag drop on site near Abbey Lodge. Facilities at the venue include toilets, changing, signed parking, first aid, and refreshments. Chip timing is provided by Timing4Sport. Water is available approximately every 3 miles and distance markers appear every mile. Results are published after the event.
All finishers receive an Alnwick Castle Trail Run medal and there is an option to purchase a race t shirt. Prizes include top three men and women, age category awards subject to minimum finishers, and team prizes. Dogs are not allowed on the estate or in the race.
