Northumberland Alnwick Castle Trail
The Run Northumberland Alnwick Castle Trail is an outdoor running event hosted by the Northumberland Estate within the grounds of Hulne Park. The event utilizes the historic scenery surrounding the area near Alnwick Castle. Participants compete on a multi-terrain course that consists of paths and farm tracks.
The event offers a variety of distances to accommodate different participants:
- Half Marathon
- 10 km (consisting of one loop around the park)
- 5 km (noted for having a flat profile)
- Junior 2 km
The event is traffic-free and timed using chips provided by Timing4Sport. Due to regulations of the Northumberland Estate, dogs are not permitted on the grounds or within the race. The minimum age for the 5 km distance is 11 years.
Facilities at the race headquarters in Hulne Park include a bag drop, toilets, and parking. Water stations are located at the finish line, and distance markers are placed at every kilometer. All finishers receive a commemorative medal, and there is an option to purchase a race t-shirt.
