North Leeds Skyline
North Leeds Skyline is a trail event based at Station Top, East Chevin Road, Otley (opposite Wharfedale Farmers Market). The route uses public footpaths and off-road trails and is organised with marked checkpoints and aid stations on the ultra route.
Distances offered include:
- 50 km / 31 miles Ultra trail, 1000 m elevation
- 25 km / 15 miles Super trail, 650 m elevation
- 16 km / 10 miles Sprint / Challenge trail, 500 m elevation
- 50 km relay Teams of 4; legs of 10 km, 15 km, 16 km, 10 km
The course is marked with pink signs and tape; colour coding separates routes (Ultra blue, Super green, Challenge yellow, pink for all). Marshals will cover the Sprint and Super routes; ultra runners will move between checkpoints. The ultra has a number of manned checkpoints with water; snacks are available at Bank Top Farm and Shadwell. Ultra runners may leave a bag to be transported to Bank Top Farm.
Mandatory kit for all races includes a 500 ml water container, the provided route map, a waterproof jacket or extra warm layer, and shoes suitable for off-road running. Ultra runners must also carry a mobile phone. Facilities at the event include a race HQ, bag storage and nearby toilets in Otley. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
