North Leeds Skyline
North Leeds Skyline is a trail running event based at Station Top, East Chevin Road, Otley (opposite Wharfedale Farmers Market) LS21 3BD. The courses use public footpaths and trail surfaces and include manned checkpoints with water; snacks are available at Bank Top Farm and Shadwell. Race HQ provides bag storage and portaloos. Parking is at Station Top, Otley.
The event offers multiple distances:
- 50 km Ultra - 51 km; 1000 m elevation; 9 hour time limit
- 25 km Super Trail - 25 km approx; 650 m elevation; 6 hour time limit
- 15 km Trail - 16 km approx; 500 m elevation; 6 hour time limit; walkers allowed
- 50 km Relay - 50 km total; 1000 m elevation; teams of four
Navigation is the runners responsibility. The course is marked with pink signage and tape but signage cannot be guaranteed, so all runners receive a route map and are expected to carry GPX files on a phone or watch. The event is not marshalled.
All entrants must carry mandatory kit: a water container, a mobile phone or watch with the correct GPX file, the provided route map, a waterproof jacket or extra warm layer, and shoes suitable for off-road running. Additional recommended items include a warm hat, gloves, headtorch, whistle, and survival blanket. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
