About the race
North Curl Curl hosts two ocean events at North Curl Curl Beach organised by the local surf life saving club. The program includes a standalone ocean swim of 2 km and a multi-leg swim-run event called the 3 Points Challenge.
The 2 km Ocean Swim starts in the northern corner of North Curl Curl Beach, follows an out-and-back course that heads toward Dee Why and then returns to the start in front of the surf club.
The 3 Points Challenge is a swim-run-swim-run-swim format that begins on the beach in front of the surf club and uses the sand, dunes and boardwalks between North Curl Curl and Freshwater. Its stages are:
- 300 m ocean swim from North Curl Curl into the surf and back to the beach
- 2.5 km run south along sand dunes and boardwalks to Freshwater
- 200 m swim at Freshwater Beach
- 2.5 km run back to North Curl Curl
- 300 m final ocean swim and a sprint to the finish
Entry options include each event separately and a combined entry to do both events for an additional fee. The event takes place on the northern beaches of Sydney at North Curl Curl Surf Life Saving Club. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
