North Alabama Race Series - Athens
The North Alabama Race Series brings several running events to downtown Athens, Alabama. The competition is held at the Limestone County Courthouse and serves as a benefit for the Make A Way Foundation. Participants can choose between three different event lengths:
- 10 km
- 5 km
- 1 mile
Registration is available through pre-registration online or as walk-up registration during packet pickup and on the day of the race. Walk-up registrations are processed via credit card only. Participants who register by April 27 are guaranteed a specific shirt size for the event tee provided to all runners.
The 5 km and 10 km events are professionally timed using chip technology. Awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers in the overall category and the Masters division for those aged 40 and older. Additionally, the events feature age-group awards for the top three male and female finishers in five-year increments, starting from residents aged 9 and under up to those aged 70 and over.
Packet pickup is organized on the Friday before the event at the Solid Rock Running Company located on US Highway 72 East in Athens. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
