Chick-fil-A North Alabama Race Series - Athens
The Chick-fil-A North Alabama Race Series in Athens, Alabama, is a community running event held in the downtown area. The event serves as a benefit for the Make A Way Foundation. Participants can choose from three different distances:
- 10 km
- 5 km
- 1 Mile Fun Run
The event is staged at the Limestone County Courthouse in Downtown Athens. Registration is available through a pre-registration period or on the morning of the event using a credit card. All participants who register by April 27 are guaranteed a commemorative t-shirt.
For the 5 km and 10 km distances, the event uses chip timing provided by Solid Rock Race Timing. Awards are presented in both of these categories for the top three male and female finishers overall, as well as in the Masters division for runners aged 40 and older. Additionally, age group awards are provided in five-year increments, ranging from the under-9 category up to 70 and older.
Packet pickup is organized at a local running store in Athens on the Friday preceding the event week. While the primary activities take place on the Saturday, walk-up registration options remain open until the start of the races. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
