Wet Dog Triathlon at Point Mallard Park
The Wet Dog Triathlon takes place at Point Mallard Park in Decatur, Alabama on July 11, 2026. It is an open water sprint triathlon held along the flat banks of the Tennessee River and is part of the Summer Sprint Series as the second of three races.
Event distances:
- 400 m open water swim
- 15 km bike
- 5 km run
The event is managed by Team Rocket Tri Club with continued involvement from the long-time race leadership. It serves as a fundraiser for Tennessee Valley Outreach, Morgan County Rescue Squad, and Princess Theater. Two race options are listed: individual and relay. Registration opens March 1, 2026 and closes March 8, 2026. Published registration fees are $40 for the individual entry and $75 for the relay entry.
Each finisher in the Summer Sprint Series receives a series water bottle at no extra charge. Race photography will be provided by We Run Race Photography. Volunteer opportunities are available for this event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
