Wet Dog Triathlon at Point Mallard
The Wet Dog Triathlon at Point Mallard takes place in Decatur, Alabama along the banks of the Tennessee River. The course consists of three legs in this order:
- 400 m open water swim
- 15k bike ride
- 5k run along the riverbank
The event offers two entry options: an individual race and a relay team category. Registration windows and fees are set by the organizer: the individual entry has a registration period and fee, and the relay entry has a separate registration opening and fee. The event is a fundraiser for Tennessee Valley Outreach, Morgan County Rescue Squad, and Princess Theater.
Wet Dog at Point Mallard is the second race in the Summer Sprint Series; the series includes the Heel & Crank Duathlon and the Huntsville Sprint Triathlon. Each participant who finishes the series receives a series water bottle at no extra charge. Race photography will be provided by We Run Race Photography. Sponsors listed for the event include Decatur Morgan County Tourism, Focus Physiotherapy, Stovall-Marks Insurance, and REAL Broker LLC.
