Wet Dog Triathlon at Point Mallard
The Wet Dog Triathlon takes place at Point Mallard Park in Decatur, Alabama on July 11, 2026. The event will be managed by Team Rocket Tri Club and is staged along the banks of the Tennessee River.
The race format is a sprint triathlon with three legs:
- 400 meter open water swim
- 15 km bike ride
- 5 km run along the river bank
Wet Dog at Point Mallard serves as a fundraiser for Tennessee Valley Outreach, Morgan County Rescue Squad, and Princess Theater. It is the second of three races in the Summer Sprint Series; the other events are Heel & Crank Duathlon and the Huntsville Sprint Triathlon. Each participant who finishes the series receives a series water bottle at no extra charge.
Registration opens March 1, 2026 and closes March 8, 2026. Entry fees listed are $40.00 for individual entries and $75.00 for relay entries.
Packet pickup is scheduled on July 9, 2026 at Fleet Feet in Madison, July 10, 2026 at 609 Social Market & Provisions in Decatur, and on race day at Point Mallard Park. Race photography will be provided by We Run Race Photography. Sponsors include Decatur Morgan County Tourism, Focus Physiotherapy, and Stovall-Marks Insurance.
