The Nightmare In Elmwood 5k is set for Saturday, October 25, 2025, in the Elmwood Park neighborhood of Columbia, South Carolina. The event includes the following distances:

- Kids Fun Run, less than a mile (ages 12 and under)
The race is hosted by GRIT Endurance, LLC and will benefit the Historic Elmwood Park Neighborhood Association, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. The course is newly certified by USA Track & Field and runs through the historic Elmwood Park neighborhood, which will feature Halloween-themed decor. Strollers and dogs on a leash are allowed. The event is nonrefundable, has no deferrals, and will proceed rain or shine.
Logistics and race details
Location for the start/finish area is near Palmetto Life Church at 2204 Park Street, Columbia, SC 29201. Packet pick-up will be held the day before the race at The Warmouth, 1201 Franklin Street. Shirt guarantee deadline is October 3, 2025; shirts must be picked up during packet pick-up or on race day and will not be shipped or held after packet pick-up.
Awards include top three overall and masters (male and female), top three in multiple age groups, and awards for the top six Halloween costumes. Team entries of five or more receive a $5 per person discount; top three teams receive podium recognition, a group photo, and a post-race treat. Participants must be present to receive awards.
