Nightmare In Elmwood 5K
The Nightmare In Elmwood is a Halloween themed community running event in Columbia, South Carolina, held in the Elmwood Park neighborhood at 2204 Park Street. The event is organized by GRIT Endurance, LLC and benefits the Historic Elmwood Park Neighborhood Association, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
Distances include:
- 5K route through the historic Elmwood Park neighborhood.
- 1 mile Kids Fun Run for children 12 and under; parents may accompany.
Registered participants receive a soft blend racing shirt. The shirt guarantee deadline is October 3, 2026; shirts must be picked up during packet pick up or on race day and cannot be shipped or held after pickup. The listed registration fees are $30 for the 5K and $20 for the Kids Fun Run. The event is nonrefundable with no deferrals and will be held rain or shine. No bib exchanges are allowed after October 22, 2026.
Costumes are encouraged and prizes are awarded for the top six most creative outfits. Strollers and dogs on leash are permitted.
