Night Owl 9k at Freedom Park
The Night Owl 9k is a trail race held at Freedom Park in Williamsburg, VA on Saturday, June 27, 2026. The course uses single track, fire road and paved trails within the park. Runners will encounter rolling hills and some technical sections with roots, twists and turns; practicing on mountain-bike style single track is suggested. The finish was moved to the road adjacent to the Interpretive Center for closer access to restrooms and the post race area. The distance will be measured accurately and the course layout was modified only slightly.
Parking is available around the Interpretive Center. Restrooms are located on the exterior of the center and inside the building. Packet pickup is available on race day only. All finishers receive medals. Post race refreshments include beer and pizza, and the Visitors Center will host owls and educational materials during the post race gathering. Walkers are welcome and there is no time limit for finishers; participants expecting a late finish should bring personal illumination.
This event is part of the Colonial Road Runner Grand Prix. A portion of proceeds will be donated to Nature's Nanny Wildlife Rehab. T-shirts are not included in registration and must be added on; a guaranteed size requires ordering before June 8. The race will proceed rain or shine, though a short delay or a move to Sunday, June 28 may occur in case of dangerous storms. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
