Night Claw - Glen Rose TX
Night Claw is a nighttime trail race held on the trails of Dinosaur Valley State Park with the event base in a field outside the park. The course uses dirt and rocky single-track trails and includes a river crossing. The 10K loop is hilly and shows about 650 ft of elevation gain.

All participants must wear a headlamp. A water carrying system is required for all events. Ruck entrants follow weight rules: runners over 150 lbs carry 30 lb, those under 150 lbs carry 20 lb; ruck sack or vest is allowed. Aid stations provide cold foods, snacks, water, electrolytes, pickle juice and ice; separate water stations supply water and ice. Drop bag transport to aid stations is not provided; drop bags may be placed at the start/finish area.
The Claw Challenge is an optional add-on. Participants who opt in receive a bib with a tear tag and a volunteer dressed as the Claw who will chase runners on part of the course. If a runner reaches the finish with their tear tag intact they are recorded as having beat the Claw; a torn tag indicates they were clawed. Awards include finisher medal add-ons, race tee, class awards, and loop completion awards for timed events.
The event takes place July 17, 2027. Historic night temperatures for the event period range roughly 75 to 95 degrees. Participants are asked not to enter Dinosaur Valley State Park grounds beyond permitted areas and to respect volunteers and the course rules.
