Camp Classic Trail Run at Camp El Tesoro
The Camp Classic Trail Run takes place at Camp El Tesoro in Granbury on January 22-23, 2027. This is the eighth annual edition and it features three distances:
- 5K one-lap trail around Camp El Tesoro
- 10K two laps of the same loop
- Kids 1K fun run for age 12 or younger
The route passes through woods, prairies, and creek-side paths. Both the 5K and 10K begin at the same starting line. Mile markers and course signage are posted and a water station is located at approximately 1.7 miles; 5K runners pass it once and 10K runners pass it twice.
Pre-race packets include a bib with an electronic timing chip and bibs must be worn on the front of the shirt for accurate timing. Chip timing is provided by Race Day Event Services and results are available about 1 to 2 minutes after finishing, with live updates throughout the morning. Strollers are not permitted on the trails.
First aid will be provided on site by trained responders from the DeCordova Bend Estates Acton Volunteer Fire Department. Registration fees vary by distance and by pre-race versus event day walk-up. Race shirts are guaranteed for registrations completed by February 14. Weekend upgrades include a Friday gourmet dinner and an overnight cabin stay with light breakfast and group-style, climate-controlled lodging.
