Beyond the Lune Skyline Ultra
The Beyond the Lune Skyline Ultra is a single-day trail ultra on 20 June 2026 that starts and finishes at The Barn in Kirkby Lonsdale. The route is a loop of 65 km (about 40 miles) with approximately 2000 m (about 6500 ft) of ascent.
The route is a self-navigation loop with two checkpoints and feed stations. Runners follow mostly footpaths and bridleways, with about 10 km on tarmac. The course includes seven summits, technical terrain and a steep section known as the Radical steps shortly before the finish.
Participation requires a minimum age of 18. Entry fee is listed as £45 and entries open and close on the dates shown by the organiser. A completion cut-off is applied. Participants receive a GPX file of the route, two checkpoints with food and water, a free pastry and hot drink at the start, merchandise where available, and a finishers beer and pizza.
Mandatory kit is checked at registration and includes a rucksack or race vest or bum bag, running or trail shoes, waterproof jacket with hood and taped seams, waterproof over trousers with taped seams, warm hat, gloves or mitts, survival bag, map or GPS unit, compass, whistle, a small first aid kit, plus water and food.
