Beyond the Lune Summer Trails
Beyond the Lune Summer Trails takes place on 20 June 2026 at The Royal Barn in Kirkby Lonsdale. The event offers three route distances:
- 5 km
- 10 km
- 20 km
Routes use local footpaths, bridleways and riverside paths around Kirkby Lonsdale and nearby Casterton. Courses include on and off road sections, a riverside return with the local '99' steps, and higher ground around Brownthwaite Pike and Bullpot with open fell views on the longer route. All routes start from The Barn by the Kirkby Lonsdale Brewery and Coffee Roasters.
Entries are open between 23 December 2025 and 15 June 2026. Entry fees are listed as £25 for 20 km, £20 for 10 km, and £10 for 5 km. The event provides route signing and marshals; the 5 km is fully signed, while the 10 km and 20 km are partially signed and include a GPX file for navigation. Participants receive event merchandise; refreshments and cake are offered on the 5 km, while 10 km and 20 km entrants get a start pastry and coffee, a seasonal Barny Box and a finisher beer where age appropriate.
All runs have a 1pm cut off. Under 16s may take part if accompanied by a parent or guardian. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
