Event Details
The Summer Farm Yard Five is a 5-mile running event. It starts and finishes at Farm Yard Brew Co. on Gulf Lane in Lancaster. The route heads out along Gulf Lane, offering views over open countryside and the Trough of Bowland hills.
Course and Amenities
The course is described as fast and flat and is accurately measured. An aid station stocked with beer (water optional) is provided halfway. Medical cover, friendly marshals, and free parking are available. The event is held under a road running license.
Post-Race and Entry Perks
Upon finishing, all participants receive a voucher for a free pint of beer or a soft drink. The brewery's tap room opens from 5 pm for runners and spectators, and a street food vendor will be present. No medals are awarded. Prizes of two cans of Farm Yard Brew Co. beers are awarded to the first three male and first three female runners. All entrants' names are entered into a draw to win six cans of the brewery's beers; the draw occurs on the day before the race starts.
Series Information
This event is the second in a series of three beer runs scheduled for 2026, which also includes the Spring Farm Yard Five and Festive Farm Yard Five. Participants who enter all three events will receive a Farm Yard Brew beer glass. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
