NIA Jingle Bell Run : 38th Annual
The Nichols Improvement Association organizes the 38th NIA Jingle Bell Run in the Nichols community of Trumbull, Connecticut, centered at 1773 Huntington Turnpike. The event program includes timed and untimed options for adults, youth, and children.
Distances and formats:
- 5K timed road race
- 1.2 mile untimed health walk
- 500 yards kids fun run
The 5K course starts next to the church, follows Shelton Road, continues up Huntington Road, and winds into the Nichols neighborhood. Organizers removed one hill on Primrose, though several hills remain. The final mile trends downhill, with the largest elevation drop in the last half mile.
All timed 5K participants receive an official bib and a race shirt; shirts are guaranteed for registrations received by November 24. The 1.2 mile health walk is not timed; walk participants receive a race shirt under the same guarantee. JBR Jr. participants receive a commemorative bib and a medal; the kids run is a noncompetitive event recommended for sixth grade and younger.
Race day logistics note a bib and shirt pickup location at the NIA Starkweather House, 1773 Huntington Turnpike, across from the Nichols United Methodist Church. Parking is available in the NIA field behind the gazebo at the same address, with limited additional parking behind Trinity Episcopal Church and volunteers to direct vehicles.
Awards for the timed 5K include gift card prizes for overall top finishers and age group awards with a Santa bobblehead and medals. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
