NIA Jingle Bell Run - Trumbull
The Nichols Improvement Association presents the 38th annual Jingle Bell Run in Trumbull, Connecticut. The event features a scenic, rolling hill course through the Nichols neighborhood and several event options for different ages.
Participants can choose from:
- 5K timed run for ages 19 and older
- 5K timed run for ages 18 and younger
- 1.2 mile untimed health walk
- 500 yard JBR Junior kids fun run
The 5K course starts near the church, follows Shelton Road, continues up Huntington Road into the Nichols neighborhood, and finishes with a net downhill in the last mile. The 1.2 mile health walk starts at the same place as the timed 5K and is not timed. The junior fun run is for younger children and takes place before the 5K; participants meet near the Nichols Firehouse.
Entry fees listed for event types include example rates of $32 for the 5K (19+), $23 for the 5K (18 and younger), $25 for the health walk, and no fee for the junior fun run. Race shirts and bibs are provided; shirts are guaranteed for registrations submitted by November 24. BIB and shirt pickup is available at the NIA Starkweather House on Dec 3–5.
Awards are given for top overall male and female finishers and for age group places in the timed 5K. A costume contest and a visit from Santa are part of the event festivities.
