NI & Ulster Even Age Group XC Championships and Bobby Rea XC
The NI & Ulster Even Age Group Cross Country Championships and the Bobby Rea Memorial Cross Country take place at Billy Neill MBE County Park, Comber Road, Belfast on 25 October 2026. The meeting will also host the Northern Ireland International Cross Country and serves as the first fixture of the Athletics NI Cross Country League.
The Even Age Group competition is a closed championship for athletes with Northern Ireland or Ulster eligibility. Eligibility is defined by being born in Northern Ireland or Ulster, or having at least one parent born in Northern Ireland or Ulster. Age is determined on 31 December 2026 and the minimum competing age is 8. The age categories are: Under 10 (2017/2018), Under 12 (2015/2016), Under 14 (2013/2014), Under 16 (2011/2012), Under 18 (2009/2010) and Under 20 for the Bobby Rea race (2007/2008).
Entries must be submitted in advance; there will be no entries on the day. Bobby Rea race athletes use the individual entry route. Even age group entries are accepted as individual athletes, and team scoring counts the top four finishers from each club. Athletes are assumed to represent the county where their club is located unless a team manager notifies the organisers before race day.
