Shanes Castle
The event at Shanes Castle Estate in County Antrim on 25 October 2026 includes a Marathon, a Half Marathon and a 10 km race. All courses follow the same looped route within the estate, keeping runners largely traffic free.
Distances:
- 10 km : 1 loop
- Half Marathon : 2 loops
- Marathon : 4 loops
Each route mixes gravel and tarmac surfaces. The 10 km route has a total ascent of 58 meters. Courses are fully marked with arrows and navigation devices or GPX files are not required. The event will be chip timed and the marathon has a 7 hour cut off.
Facilities on site are limited parking and toilets. Organisers note limited parking within the grounds and recommend car sharing where possible; runners and spectators are asked not to park outside the main gates or along the main road. Finishers receive a bespoke medal and water at the finish.
The route passes through locations used in filming for Game of Thrones. All races share the same marked course and loop structure, which may be useful for pacing and support planning. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
