#NFStrong-Memphis is a community fundraising walk and 5K event held on Sunday, November 8, 2026, at East Parkway Pavilion in Overton Park, Memphis, TN. The event supports the NF Network and its local services for people affected by neurofibromatosis.
The event offers several participation options:
- In-person 5K walk
- Virtual 5K, shirts not included
- Kid's walk for ages 12 and under
The NF Network’s stated mission is to promote scientific research, improve clinical care, provide outreach through education and awareness, and offer hope and support to those affected by neurofibromatosis. Neurofibromatosis is a genetic nervous system disorder that can cause tumors to form on nerves anywhere in the body. The material notes that NF occurs in roughly one in every 2,500 to 3,000 births, affects all races and sexes, and is not contagious. About half of cases have a family history and about half result from spontaneous mutation.
The event page describes fundraising via individual pledge pages and lists registration options for in-person and virtual participation. A free educational meeting about neurofibromatosis is scheduled for the day before the walk. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
