Tarrywile Half Marathon
The Tarrywile Half Marathon is a trail running event held at Tarrywile Park, 70 Southern Blvd., Danbury, Connecticut. The event uses a loop course that the organizer describes as having close to 3K of elevation for the half marathon. Much of the terrain is technical Northeast single track with viewpoints over Danbury and the park's lakes.
Three distances are offered:
- 10K
- Half Marathon
- Marathon
The event follows a cupless policy: runners must carry a hydration bottle, pack, or cup. Aid stations will provide water, electrolyte drink, and typical food items, and there will be at least one aid station on course in addition to the start and finish. A GPX file for the half marathon course is available.
Registration opens January 1 and fees vary by distance and registration date. The organizer posts a cash bonus of $600 to the first male under 1:45 and the first female under 2:00 in the half marathon, with $100 added to that prize pool each year until claimed. The event has a no refunds and no transfers policy. Finishers receive a specially designed medal and there are awards for top overall male and female finishers in each race.
Race rules emphasize no littering, following the marked course, respecting other trail users, and notifying an aid station when withdrawing. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
