Newtown Community Running Event
The Newtown Community Running Event takes place on August 30, 2026 at 3 Primrose St, Newtown, CT 06470, US. The event offers multiple race distances and includes Newtown's first half marathon.
The available distances are:
- Kids Run: 50 yards
- 5K Run/Walk: 3.1 miles
- 10K: 6.2 miles
- Half Marathon: 13.1 miles
Registration opens March 16, 2026. Early bird pricing applies through June 1, 2026 with fees of 5K $35, 10K $55, and half marathon $75. From June 1 to July 15 prices increase to 5K $40, 10K $60, half marathon $80. From July 15 through the day of the event prices are 5K $45, 10K $65, half marathon $85. The kids run has no registration fee.
The half marathon includes options for an early start and for adding extra miles before or after the timed segment; miles completed before the race are untimed. Participants who register by July 15 are guaranteed selection of shirt size and cut; shirt options include unisex and women’s cuts in a moisture wicking fabric. Finisher medals are provided for all participants. A free 16 week TOGA Race Coach subscription is offered to registrants, with access information sent after registration.
