ABP Newport Marathon Festival
The ABP Newport Marathon Festival is a multi-race running weekend in Newport, Wales, scheduled for 18 April 2027. The programme includes a full marathon, half marathon, 10K and mile races, with supporting events on the preceding day such as a Women's Running Conference and a Pasta Party.
The marathon route is presented as one of the flattest marathon courses in Europe and starts and finishes on Newport’s riverfront. The route passes notable city landmarks including the historic castle, the Victorian market, the Transporter Bridge, the modern riverfront development and the International Sports Village. Marathon and half marathon courses also run through the nearby Gwent Levels, an area noted for coastal wildlife and medieval villages. The organisers report that nearly 70% of finishers have recorded a personal best on this route.
The event is delivered by Run4Wales (R4W) with headline support from Associated British Ports and backing from Newport City Council. The festival also lists a lead charity and several commercial partners. Race services and logistics information such as routes, travel and accessibility are provided by the organisers, and volunteer roles are used to support race day operations.
