ABP Newport Marathon Festival
The ABP Newport Marathon Festival is a mass participation running event in Newport, Wales, UK, scheduled for Sunday 18 April 2027. The festival programme comprises races over marathon, half marathon, 10K and mile distances, plus junior races.
The marathon course is described as one of the flattest marathon routes in Europe and starts and finishes on Newport's riverfront. Nearly 70% of finishers have recorded a personal best on this route. The marathon and half marathon pass through the Gwent Levels, an area of coastal wildlife and picturesque medieval villages.
The route runs by several local landmarks, including the city castle, the Victorian market, the Transporter Bridge, the modern riverfront development and the International Sports Village. The event weekend includes a Women's Running Conference and a Pasta Party on the Saturday before the races.
The festival is delivered by Run4Wales and is supported by Associated British Ports and Newport City Council. Volunteers are described as essential to event delivery and the programme offers associated activities and race day services for participants and spectators.
