Newburgh Derby Dash
Organized by Historic Newburgh, Inc., the First Annual Liberty Federal Credit Union Newburgh Derby Dash takes place on May 2, 2026, along the Newburgh riverfront in Newburgh, Indiana. The event uses a start and finish at the intersection of State and Water Streets by Marida Mediterranean Restaurant.
Distances:
- 5K timed race with age group awards for multiple male and female categories
- 1 mile out-and-back walk along the French Island Trail
The 5K route follows the French Island Trail, passes Old Lock and Dam Park, and turns around before the hill to Newburgh Overlook Park. The 1 mile route also follows the French Island Trail and passes Old Lock and Dam Park. Both routes provide Ohio River views along the course.
Registration is open and carries a fee of $20 for each listed event; registration opens February 13, 2026 and closes April 27, 2026. All participants receive a custom Derby Dash shirt. The 5K includes awards for multiple male and female age groups. A Historic Newburgh Beer and Wine Festival is scheduled on the riverfront after the race events.
