Newbsanity Mud Gauntlet - Binghamton, NY
The Newbsanity Mud Gauntlet is an obstacle course event held on a permanent course at 790 Dunham Hill Road in Binghamton, New York. The course covers roughly 3.5 miles across about 100 acres of wooded terrain and includes a mix of natural and man-made obstacles. Several obstacles offer alternative routes called the Risk and Reward path or the Tried and True path so participants can select different difficulty options on course.
The event includes multiple heats with different formats. The elite and age group competitive races are timed; elite competitors are expected to complete all obstacles or accept associated penalties, and cash awards are offered to the top three overall male and female finishers with payouts of $500, $250, and $100. Age group competitors are also expected to complete obstacles and receive awards for top finishes in each age group.
A multi lap heat allows participants to complete as many laps as possible within a set time window; laps are timed. Single lap open waves are untimed; participants are not required to attempt every obstacle. Open-wave participants receive an event shirt and medal. Food options are available in the festival area during the event. Registration opens January 1, 2026 and closes May 8, 2026; fees vary by heat.
